2.Reservations
If the chosen vehicle is unavailable, we reserve the right to provide a vehicle of similar or higher category at no extra charge.
3.Driver’s Age
- Cars: Minimum age for drivers is 21 years old.
- Car Group Economy Plus: Minimum age for drivers is 18 years old.
- Scooters (50cc-125cc-150cc): Minimum age is 18 years old.
- Scooters (200cc-300cc-350cc-500cc): Minimum age is 23 years old.
- Scooters and motorcycles (501cc and above): Minimum age is 25 years old.
- Quads/ATVs (50cc-200cc): Minimum age is 18 years old.
- Quads/ATVs (200cc-450cc): Minimum age is 20 years old.
- Quads/ATVs (450cc and above): Minimum age is 21 years old.
4.Driver’s Licenses (For Cars)
- Drivers must have held a valid driver’s license for at least one year prior to renting the vehicle.
- Citizens of Non-EU countries (excluding the UK) must present both a valid international driver’s license and a common driver’s license of their home country.
- Provisional licenses are not accepted.
5.Driver’s License Requirements (For Scooters, Motorcycles, Quads/ATVs)
- All drivers must present a valid and full driver’s license.
- Citizens of Non-EU countries (excluding the UK) must present both avalid international driver’s license and a common driver’s license of their home country.
- Provisional licenses are not accepted.
Vehicle Categories and License Requirements:
- 50cc 2-stroke scooters (Kymco People, Derbi Bulevard, Derbi Variant): Category AM or A1 or A2 or A.
- 50cc scooters (Sym Orbit, Kymco Agility, Sym Symphony, Piaggio Liberty, Aprilia SXR, Piaggio zip): Category B (car license) or AM or A1 or A2 or A.
- Scooters 110cc and 125cc: Category A1 or A2 or A (Without the restriction codes 79.03, 79(3) , 79.04 , 79(4), 79(2)
- Scooters and motorcycles 126cc up to 500cc: Category A2 or A (Without the restriction codes 79.03, 79(3) , 79.04 , 79(4), 79(2)
- Scooters and motorcycles above 501cc: Category A (Without the restriction codes 79.03, 79(3) , 79.04 , 79(4), 79(2)
- Quads/ATVs 50cc, 80cc: Category AM or A1 or A2 or A.
- Quads/ATVs 150cc up to 650cc: Category B (car license).
- Piaggio Mp3 300cc (3 wheel vehicle):European Driving License: A1 or A2 or B(B required only if the driver’s license has been issued before 18/1/2013).
6.Traffic Violations / Fines
All fines, charges and penalties imposed by any Greek authority shall be borne by the Renter and the Renter agrees that these shall be paid in cash or by charging the Renter’s credit card.
7.Methods of Payment
All payments must be made in full in cash or by card at the time of pick-up or online by card.
8.Cancelation Policy
No cancelation fees. Please notify us of any cancelation as soon as possible.
9.Fuel Policy
The Renter is obliged to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel upon pick-up. In case of returning the vehicle with less fuel, the Renter will be charged for any fuel difference. There are no refunds for vehicles returned with more fuel than that of the time of pick-up.
10.Accident Reporting
- In case of an accident, it is important that the Renter promptly notify Driveaway and the authorities (police).
- Reporting accident at the police station is a crucial step.
- Failure to inform Driveaway and the police means that the Renter is responsible for covering all damages to the vehicle and any loss for the days that it is back in the garage for repairs without generating income for Driveaway.
11.Insurance Terms
- Coverage: Driveaway insurance automatically covers all third- party claims, excluding damages to tires, wheels, undercarriage and the interior of the vehicle.
- Excess Surcharge: If the Renter does not choose any additional insurance and in case that the vehicle is stolen, damaged or involved in an accident, Driveaway will apply a charge based on the vehicle’s excess amount.
- The Renter must have the key on his person at all times to avoid a surcharge in this incident.
- The Renter must be aware of all these cases in order to avoid any surcharges.
- Fault Determination: When going to court for an accident where the Renter proves not to be legally liable for it (meaning the Renter was not at fault), there is a refund for any excess paid.
- Reduced excess: Choosing SCDW for cars or CDW for scooters, motorcycles or quads/ATVs during booking reduces the surcharge to the corresponding excess charge of the vehicle.
- All insurance policies doesn't cover undercarriage, roof and interior of the vehicle.
12.Vehicles Cannot Be Used When:
- Acting against the terms and conditions of this agreement.
- Breaking the highway code.
- Exceeding vehicle’s registered capacity.
- Propelling or towing any vehicle, trailer or other object.
- Carrying heavy luggage or objects.
- Carrying flammable, toxic and odorous goods.
- Carrying dangerous goods, explosives, weapons or any prohibited items.
13.Roadside Assistance
Roadside assistance due to malfunction and defects of the vehicle is provided at no cost to the Renter. If the vehicle cannot be quickly repaired, then another vehicle may be offered to the Renter. If an alternative vehicle is not available, then the Renter will get a full refund for the entire cost of the rental.
14.Geographic Restrictions
Under no circumstances may the vehicle be taken out of of Corfu without the prior written authorization of Driveaway, since this may incur additional charges.
15.Key Loss
If the keys are lost and damaged, the Renter is liable to pay for replacement costs.
16.Disputes
Any dispute not resolved between the Renter and Driveaway shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Greek Courts.
17. Proper Use of Rental Vehicle
Insurance coverage and waivers are valid on the condition that the Renter adheres to all terms and
conditions.The Renter is responsible for repair costs if the vehicle is used improperly, including:
- Driving off designated roads or off road or on unpaved roads.
- Violating traffic law (e.g., road/STOP signs, speed limits, road direction, U-turns).
- Breaking parking rules.
- Ignoring hidden damages or accidents.
- Participating in road rallies or using the vehicle for reward (taxi or courier service).
- Allowing someone not explicitly referred to in the rental agreement to drive the vehicle.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Driving the vehicle off the agreed rental period.
- Intentionally or recklessly damaging the vehicle (e.g., burning out a clutch, sitting/standing on the
bonnet/boot/roof or damaging the vehicle’s interior).
